Wolf-Dragon Seal

This seal depicts a demi-animal (top half only, cut off at the waist), with a dragon-like head and ears, but with whiskers, tail, and paws like a wolf or dog. The animal is above a wreath or “torse”, two pieces of colored cloth, or a color and a metal, twisted or wound together around the crest to disguise or cover how the crest is attached to the top of a helmet.

This seal is a jewelry-quality casting in bronze from the original seal, and the wood handle is turned in beautiful and incredibly durable black walnut, lightly finished. The original seal is an antique from the Regency or early Victorian period (nineteenth century), hand-engraved in great depth and detail in bloodstone agate.
